When I found the olive tree site I was amazed of the connection with my ancestors, I started with ancestory.ca. Starting with my great grandmother Rosseta Bradt I traced my lineage to Cornelius Van Slyke  and Ost Toch Mohawk woman, Duthch ancestors are Van Alstyne, Van Valkenburg( Isaac and Lydia) and then to the Van Slykes. I am totally engulfed into the research on the Dutch and Mohawk at New Netherlands with so much information on the historical couple. I have recently sent my collective findings tracing my heritage to the MNO, exciting to be accepted as a member to get involved with the metis culture. Often growing up I have been asked if I was native, and I never knew how to answer, know I have the proof
